About CulinAero

CulinAero
CulinAero by Proof of the Pudding is the food and beverage provider at the Georgia International Convention Center. CulinAero differs from typical convention center fare by its commitment to restaurant-quality, chef-crafted meals and the freshest ingredients, including produce, poultry, meats and fish sourced from local and regional organic farms.

CulinAero is derived from the words “culinary” and “aeronautics.” The word culinary is defined as something related to, or connected with, cooking. Culinary artists are responsible for skilfully preparing meals as pleasing to the palate as to the eye. Aeronautics is the science of airflight-capable machines. The term, which literally means “sailing the air,” in the context of the brand name, pays honor the GICC’s location at the doorstep to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest airport.

CulinAero’s Executive Chef, Douglas J. Kieley, has held culinary positions at The Ritz Carlton of Naples, New Orleans’ Commander’s Palace and Dallas-based Eatzi’s Market & Bakery.

“Our commitment is to bring restaurant-style food into the convention center environment,” explained CulinAero’s lead Chef Kieley. “Everywhere I’ve ever worked, we’ve had a reputation and standards to uphold. We’ve made everything from scratch using top-notch ingredients; it’s all I know.”

The GICC has just what Chef Kieley needs to live up to the CulinAero commitment, including access to farm-fresh ingredients grown exclusively for the best local restaurants and the GICC Culinary Arts Center, a 9,800-sq. ft. kitchen complex boasting the latest in food and refrigeration equipment. The center has the capacity to prepare and serve gourmet meals for up to 4,000 guests.
